Expect the Unexpected and Other Financial ... - Blonde on a Budget

I have a confession to make: I am a huge Big Brother fan. I?ve watched every episode since Season 8, get the live feeds every year, and would consider myself somewhat of a superfan. I am constantly strategizing along with the HouseGuests, trying to imagine what they are going to do next, and coming up with possible big moves that could take players to the end of the game. (And you know this means I?m applying to Big Brother Canada!)

It takes all of my willpower to not tweet about it 24/7, especially with spoilers from the live feeds. And admitting all of this makes me feel like a huge dork! But I know that a) the personal finance community probably doesn?t want to hear about it, and b) I don?t like spoiling what?s happening live. What I can do, just this one time, is turn some of the most popular catchphrases and key terms into financial lessons from inside the Big Brother House.

You Have to work for what you want.

Every week, the HouseGuests compete in a Have/Have Not competition. While the Have?s get ?luxuries? like hot showers, food, etc. the Have Not?s must sleep on awkward beds (usually with the lights on), take cold showers, and eat nothing but slop (what looks like tasteless oatmeal). The best lesson taught by any competition, in both the Big Brother house and in life, is not that there are winners and losers but that you must work for what you want. We often take for granted how our own basic needs are met by hot showers and cooked meals, but these are things we need to survive and, therefore, we prioritize and budget for them. And luxuries, such as the ability to purchase something new for ourselves, must also be earned through the process of budgeting and saving.

Don?t open Pandora?s Box.

In the Big Brother house, Pandora?s Box is an opportunity presented once or twice each season. What?s inside could be good or bad for both the opener and/or the rest of the house. The moral decision to open or not open Pandora?s Box reminds me of shopping; more specifically, justifying purchases. We are constantly bombarded with the ?need? to have the newest of this or that, or feel we deserve some sort of ?want? but, more often than not, it comes at a price. If you?re buying what you want with a credit card you can?t pay off, or blowing savings on something you think might maybe will be worth it, the better option is to walk away from it altogether. Your credit and reputation are worth more than what an impulsive decision can get you.

Embrace your inner Chen-bot.

Since the first season of Big Brother U.S., host Julie Chen has been known for being slightly robotic. She spits out her lines like she?s reading from a cue card and, as so, has rightfully been nicknamed Chen-bot. What I see in Julie is that she knows this game so well that she can say every scripted line when it needs to be said. When the camera light goes red, she does what she has to do. Much like the mentality I needed to payoff $17,000 of debt in 1 year, I can now see that Julie is simply staying on-track. By keeping the end goal in mind, she does what she needs to do, says what needs to be said, and manages to do so with a smile on her (slightly robotic) face.

Don?t be a floater. Form an alliance.

Ok? I might be slightly biased on this one, as I would consider the personal finance community, as well as readers and the people I connect with through various social media, my alliance. But before I had all of you, I was floating through life. I was racking up debt left and right and no one knew how bad my situation was. It wasn?t until I knew I had to ?play the (budget) game? that I could see I needed a support system. I started by writing here anonymously and found many others who were also trying to win the same game as I was. By teaming up with people (anonymous or not) who will keep you accountable, as well as have your back when you need them most, you?re that much more likely to get ahead.

Expect the unexpected.

The most popular catchphrase, and this season?s theme, is the best financial advice of all. Why do we build up savings, Emergency Funds, etc.? To cover the costs of the unexpected. In the Big Brother House, this catchphrase is used to keep HouseGuests on the edge of their seats. Knowing anyone or anything could enter the house, or change the rules of the game, they have to strategize every move they make and conversation they have. In real life, car repairs, hospital visits, vet bills, etc. are just a few of the things you can?t always plan for. And if you can?t make it to the end of the week, you?re out of the game.

Co-parenting and joint custody in an extended blended family

A blended family has more members than we sometimes acknowledge, so it may be helpful now and then to take a renewed look at your extended family structure. A successful blended family makes accommodations with an ex-spouse and his or her new partner, and understanding how much they impact kids who spend time at their home in a joint custody arrangement.

Making co-parenting and joint custody work

An amicable co-parenting and joint custody partnership with your ex-spouse is one of the most important relationships you can cultivate. When both parents set aside their own personal issues and put them first, children gain a kind of stability and self-worth that is hard to match.

Co-parenting after a divorce and marriage

After your divorce and remarriage, the only relationship you have with your ex-spouse is that of co-parents of your children. It can help to begin thinking of the relationship as something completely new, something quite outside of you and your ex-spouse.

Co-parenting is the best option for your children

When you and your ex-spouse work together in cooperation for their benefit, your kids see that they are more important than whatever conflict ended the marriage. They can understand that your love for them will prevail, no matter what.

If your ex-spouse has also remarried

You deserve and expect consideration and respect for your role as a step parent to the biological children of your new blended family partner. Likewise, your consideration and respect for your ex-spouse?s new partner is called for, as well.

Enlist your partner?s help

Co-parenting with someone you wish you never had to see again is not easy, and it can sometimes take its toll in tension and exasperation. Keep personal issues with your ex-spouse away from your children and never, ever say negative things to them about your ex.

How To Make Your Debt Settlement Offer The ... - Debt Relief Mag

CPR / My Neighbour to the West by bill barberDebt settlement is a viable option to look forward to when you have incurred huge outstanding balance on your credit card or loans and are finding it difficult to repay them. With debt settlement the thing that you need to remember is that you should not incur more debts on your cards than what already exists. Adding more debts can increase your problems and then even debt relief programs would not have much role. So it is important that if you want to improve your financial state do take care that you stay away from any further debts. It will also be advantageous as it will save you from the threats and harassment of your creditors.

Debt Reduction Law Firms The Truth Exposed

If you are in need of debt relief, make sure you do your research and know the facts. Ask the company if they charge their fees upfront. A reputable company will not only charge their fees once a settlement has been reached, but will go a step further and base their fees on their performance. If a company if claiming to offer legal services or legal protection, ask exactly what they cover. Ensure you ask if they will represent you in court at no extra charge, and if they will protect your rights under the FDCPA with no out of pocket expenses to you.

Pursuant to my research on this topic, I?ve altered my CC settlement strategy. Here?s my current strategy. Walking away from credit card debt is the easiest walk-away of all. To be assured of being able to use the funds in those credit accounts, it?s important to avoid the appearance of fraud, i.e. don?t use cash advances on the cards. On the other hand, using the credit to pay for your normal living expenses is considered

That's called Fatherhood... | Brian D Molitor

As a NBA fan, I used to love to watch the Detroit Pistons play on Sunday afternoons. Of all the players, one really stood out for his hustle, drive and athletic ability. His name is Dennis Rodman. In the early years, he was exciting to watch as he would out rebound players much bigger than he was. However, as his career progressed, his behavior both on and off the court got down- right weird. Crazy hairdos, tattoos, more piercings than Aunt Tillie?s pin cushion, binge drinking, and more. It never made much sense until recently when I read an article that explained a lot. It seems that the father of this former NBA star has been absent from his son?s life?for the past 42 years! The article goes on to say that his dad made sure that Dennis had a few siblings; 29 to be exact! Further, Rodman senior confessed that he had those 29 kids with an astounding 16 different mothers!!! Wow. That legacy is more befitting a stray alley cat than a responsible human being.

The article went on to explain that the elder Rodman, currently living in the Philippines, wanted to meet with his son Dennis to explain that ?He didn?t abandon his family in he USA?? Bet that would have made for an interesting discussion. Something like ?You know son, I really didn?t abandon you?it?s just that I had 15 other women I had to visit and with the other 28 kids scattered around, I just didn?t have time for you all. Oh, and I heard you play some sort of sport, right? Soccer? Yeah, keep up the good work, son.?

I can only imagine how such a gifted athlete like Dennis Rodman would have prospered if his dad had been in the stands cheering him on, rather than looking for his next ?wife?. With all that practice, Mr. Rodman Sr. should have become be a pretty good dad, but my educated guess is that he fell way short of that mark. Making babies has little to do with being a father.

Growing up is tough in today?s world. Growing up in today?s world without a dad is infinitely tougher. Here?s the truth. Mr. Rodman did not ?father? 29 children. He simply participated in the biological process that naturally results in a child being born. Then, he moved on to some other woman and did it again. Sort of rinse and repeat without all the suds. That is NOT fathering by any means and we need to call it like it is.

Gentlemen, if we are man enough to make a child, we need to be man enough to stick around, at least for 18 years, and help raise that child. That?s called fatherhood?

Israel's Netanyahu loses key coalition partner

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Israel plunged toward a political crisis Tuesday after the largest party in the government quit, leaving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in charge of a hard-line coalition opposed to most Mideast peace moves.

The moderate Kadima Party voted to pull out of the government in a feud over attempts to reform the country's military draft. The move, just two months after Kadima joined the coalition, appeared to push the country closer to early elections, a scenario that would paralyze Mideast diplomacy for months.

Even if Netanyahu manages to hold the truncated coalition together, the sudden crisis has broader implications for Mideast peace, leaving him in charge of a narrow parliamentary majority dominated by religious and nationalist hard-liners who oppose concessions to the Palestinians.

Kadima leader Shaul Mofaz brought the party into the coalition to work with Netanyahu on ending a contentious, decades-old system that has granted draft exemptions to tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jewish seminary students. But with a court-ordered Aug. 1 deadline to revise the law, the sides were unable to forge a compromise.

"We made a real effort to push toward a new law that would change the balance of service," Mofaz, a former military chief of staff, told a news conference.

Mofaz said he tried to forge a "new social contract," but was presented with "red lines" that couldn't be crossed. "We are going back with our heads held high to lead the nation in the opposition," he declared.

Kadima is the largest party in Israel's parliament, winning one more seat than Netanyahu's Likud Party in the last election, but it was left outside the government when Netanyahu set up his original hard-line team three years ago.

The draft exemptions have caused widespread resentment among Israel's secular majority, who are required to perform two to three years of compulsory service. Ultra-Orthodox leaders have been equally adamant in their refusal to compromise, claiming their young men serve the nation through prayer and study.

Netanyahu had sought a system that would gradually draft growing numbers of ultra-Orthodox over several years, and continue the exemptions for a smaller number of them. Mofaz wanted fewer exemptions and for the ultra-religious to be incorporated much faster. The talks were been complicated by calls for Israel's Arab minority, who are exempt from the draft, to be forced into civilian national service.

In a letter to Mofaz, Netanyahu expressed regret over Mofaz's decision.

"I am sorry that you decided to give up the opportunity to bring about a historic change. After 64 years we were very close to a significant change in spreading the burden (of army service)," he said. "I will continue to work to bring a responsible solution that Israeli society expects."

It remained unclear what would happen after Aug. 1. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on that date he would begin drafting an unspecified number of ultra-religious soldiers and propose temporary legislation until a more permanent arrangement can be made in the coming months.

Netanyahu's government, torn between religious and secular parties, was on the brink of collapse over the draft issue when Mofaz was lured into the government in an overnight deal in May. Those divisions are likely to hinder new attempts by Netanyahu to reform the draft.

Kadima's addition gave Netanyahu a majority of 94 seats in the 120-member parliament, raising hopes that they would not only resolve the draft issue but also make progress on peace matters with the Palestinians.

Mofaz, a political moderate, favors broad concessions to the Palestinians and has proposed formation of an interim Palestinian state while final borders are negotiated.

With Mofaz's departure, Netanyahu appears unlikely to float any bold proposals toward the Palestinians. During a visit this week by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Palestinian issue barely factored in discussions.

Palestinian government spokesman Ghassan Khatib refused to comment, calling the resignation an internal Israeli matter.

Mofaz came under heavy criticism from political moderates when he joined Netanyahu last May. His sudden change of mind Tuesday was certain to raise further doubts about his leadership skills, and could hurt Kadima's political prospects down the road. Opinion polls have predicted the party would plunge to roughly 10 seats, about one-third its current level, if new elections were held.

"Political cooperation born in sin was destined to end," said former Kadima leader Tzipi Livni.

Livni might now try to take another run at the Kadima leadership. Analysts have also speculated that former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, cleared in a high-profile corruption case last week, might also try to jump back into politics. Olmert confidants say he will not make any decision until he resolves another pending corruption case.

Yaron Ezrahi, a political science professor from Hebrew University, said Netanyahu would weather the storm.

He noted that peace efforts with the Palestinians have been stalled during Netanyahu's three-year tenure in any case, and there was little momentum to revive them.

"Who is talking about the peace process today?" said Ezrahi. "The peace process is paralyzed by the two leaderships, and not by the peoples, who are tired of war and craving peace."

Instead, Netanyahu will remain focused on working with the U.S. on preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons ? an issue for which he has broad public support.

India Tours A Memorable Golden Triangle Tour To Delhi Agra Jaipur

Having travelled independently to India a number of times, I knew that organizing a Golden Triangle tour for my students was going to be no easy job. Most of the students in the group have never been on an India Tour. I was lucky therefore to have found the services of SGTI. From the initial contact to the moment they waived us off at Delhi airport we were given a five star treatment.

Initially I contacted them in regards to organizing our India tour (a student party of 27) which was done with thought and consideration. From organizing our hotels in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and coach right down to a personalized itinerary including all the must see attractions. The price was excellent and extremely competitive. We had a problem finding suitable flights for our India tour and then SGTI once more stepped in and helped us in this matter. Their attitude towards customer care was outstanding and they were prepared to go that extra mile to help in the organizing of our Golden Triangle trip.

Our time in India was exactly what I wanted for my students and myself. Asim was an incredible host and went out of his way to cater for the needs of a large party of young people. It was primarily an Art and Design trip and Asim tailored the Golden Triangle tour to these needs. He organized meals, dancing, entertainment, and was an outstanding guide. He was always aware of safety issues and was happy to accommodate all of our requests. I know many of the students were very sad to leave and the care from Asim and his team continued right down to the last minute as they waived us goodbye at the airport in the early hours of the morning.

The students and teachers all had a fantastic India trip to Golden Triangle cities and took away many wonderful memories of India which was greatly down to the high level of organization and care given to us by SGTI. Our great trip to India was made all the more amazing by our tour guide Asim and bus driver Sundar; they accommodated our every need and met the requirements, and more, of our students. We had an unforgettable time, saw the true India and cant wait to return. I just want to say thank you to Asim and Asif, they had been wonderful throughout our tour to India.

Asims contribution to our wonderful India tour made it an exciting and intellectually motivating experience. He was a perfect teacher for us and we feel that he fitted it all in with the learning purpose of our journey. Overall going to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, the Golden Triangle cities of India was a fantastic experience and we all had a marvelous time visiting historical ancient monuments, beautiful temples and other religious places. People in India made us feel all very welcome and I will look forward to repeating it with many more India Tours in future.

Bursts of certain words within a text are what make them keywords

This release is available in German.

Human beings have the ability to convert complex phenomena into a one-dimensional sequence of letters and put it down in writing. In this process, keywords serve to convey the content of the text. How letters and words correlate with the subject of a text is something Eduardo Altmann and his colleagues from the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems have studied with the help of statistical methods. They discovered that what denotes keywords is not the fact that they appear very frequently in a given text. It is that they are found in greater numbers only at certain points in the text. They also discovered that relationships exist between sections of text which are distant from each other, in the sense that they preferentially use the same words and letters.

The Dresden-based scientists mathematically studied the semantic properties of texts by translating ten different English texts into various codes. One of the chosen texts was the English edition of Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace".

One example of what the scientists did was translate letters in a text into a binary sequence. They replaced all vowels with 1 and all consonants with 0. By employing additional mathematical functions, the scientists examined different levels of the text both individual vowels and letters, as well as whole words which had been translated into various codes. In so doing, it was possible to identify repeating patterns within the text as a whole. Such correlation within a text is referred to as long-range correlation. This indicates whether two letters located at arbitrarily distant points in the text are connected with each other. For example, when we find a letter "W" at a certain point, there is a measurably higher probability that we will find the letter "W" again a few pages later.

"Understandably enough, if a certain point in the book talks about war, there is a high probability that the word war will also appear a few pages later. What is surprising is that we also find this higher probability at the level of individual letters," says Altmann.

Keywords are more frequent in certain passages of text

The scientists found this long-range correlation not only between letters, but also within higher linguistic levels, such as words. Within individual levels, the correlation remains when looking at different texts. "What we find much more interesting is to examine how the correlation changes between the levels," says Altmann. Long-range correlation enables the scientists to draw conclusions about the extent to which certain words are connected to a topic. "Even the connection between a word and the letters it is composed of can be analysed in this way," explains Altmann.

Furthermore, the scientists also studied what is known as "burstiness", which describes whether increased occurrence of a pattern of characters is present in a passage of text. It shows, for instance, whether a word comes up at increased frequency in a certain text section. The more frequently a certain word is used in a passage, the more likely it is that that word is representative of a certain subject.

The scientists demonstrated that certain words come up repeatedly throughout a text, are however not present in bursts in a given text passage. Although these words do exhibit long-range correlation, they are not closely related to the topic at hand. "Articles are the best examples of these. They come up very frequently in every text, but they are not crucial in conveying a given topic," says Altmann.

Statistical text analysis works irrespective of language

Whereas both letters and words exhibit long-range correlation, it is rare for letters to appear in bursts at certain points in a text. "It is, in fact, very rare for a letter to be as closely connected with a topic as the word it forms a part of. In a manner of speaking, letters can be used more flexibly," explains Altmann. An "a", for example, can be a part of a great many words that have no connection with one and the same topic.

The scientists employed statistical text analysis as an easy way of identifying the defining words of a given text. "By so doing, it is absolutely irrelevant which language the text is written in. The only thing that matters is the story and not language-specific rules," says Altmann. Their findings could be used in future to improve Internet search engines, and they could also help to analyse texts and identify plagiarism.

Real Estate Marketing: Crafting Your Ideal Prospect Profile | Instant ...

Do you have a precise ?ideal prospect profile?? If not the odds are your real estate marketing is far underperforming its potential while your competition is taking advantage of your lack of focus?

Why Do You Need an Ideal Prospect Profile for Real Estate Investing?

An ideal prospect profile is critical for targeting your marketing. Only by better targeting your marketing and honing in one the best prospects will you yield the maximum conversion ratios and total ROI, while reducing your work load for each real estate investing deal completed.

More specifically, this means getting the right message to the right people who are the best fit for what you are offering, whether it is to buy their homes, sell or rent them a home or solicit them as a private mortgage lender.

Unfortunately while many real estate investors get the basics of targeting and attempt to brand themselves in rough niches or market to specific groups they are not going anywhere deep enough to either identify who they are really trying to reach or honing their marketing messages to them effectively. After all, if you don?t know exactly who you should be marketing too, how are you going to achieve the ?right time, right place, right medium? combo needed for effective marketing, let alone hit the right points?

This is exactly why a well-defined ideal prospect profile is one of the first essential steps for any marketing.

What Should Your Ideal Prospect Profile Include?

An entire book could easily be written on this topic but the bottom line is the deeper and more precise you go the more effective your real estate marketing will be.

Your profile should pin point exactly who your ideal (those most likely to ?buy?) prospects are by defining items including the following:

Helpful Tips on Preparing For Business Interviews | CarsA-Z ...

Since the economy has been so poor in recent years, the level of competition to find a position means you have to nail your business interviews. There is the possibility that you may not get the job you're seeking - that's just how it is nowadays. You probably need to do some research on how to do interviews, even if you've never done one before. In regard to interviewing today, all you can do is be as ready as humanly possible. Remember this is a numbers game for you as well as the employer. The following tips will help you become much better and proficient at job interviewing.

While you want to appear confident in interviews, you should avoid coming across as too cocky. In some cases an offer might be made that falls short of your hopes.

The salary or position that is offered might be disappointing. There may be some room for negotiation, but don't be too quick to take offense or turn an offer down. There is usually more than one reason why this can happen, but the important thing is you can work your way up. No matter what the outcome, conclude the interaction in a professional and friendly way. We are not quite done with our discussion, and if you are like us the gears would be turning with fresh ideas. You know that not all methods like http://soycandlesandmelts.com.au are suitable for all business models such as the person who does media buys will have no need for search marketing. Being new to internet marketing is one thing because everything you do is growth, but later on is when learning new methods involves weighing more possibilities. Very many online businesses are extremely serious, and therefore they will always be interested in adding new revenue streams. Remember that one of the simplest ways to achieve business growth is by simply doing more with your marketing and of course any separate advertising. We know that you have some kind of idea about how far you want to take your business. Learning about each company that you are interviewing with is something that must be done prior to the interview. You will be able to find out all of this information on the World Wide Web. Most if not all businesses you interview with will have a website. What will probably occur is you'll be asked if you have any questions about the company. When you answer them, you can show that you know a little bit about their company after all. You might state a few things you know about the company, and then ask a question or two. It will look very positive when it appears as if you know about their company, and that you have done the proper research.

At any time during the interview process, be proactive and offer positive information. Talking about your prior work history should be done in this manner. Valuable experience is what they are looking for. Even an internship can serve as some form of experience for that position. What you want to do is highlight something relevant and perhaps discuss what you learned. Work experience or jobs, which relate to the position you are applying for, must only be discussed if relevant to the position. The best thing to do is make a list of all of the positive things you learned from your prior job, so that you are properly prepared for the interview itself. It is quite common for people to be nervous prior to a business interview with a potential employer. If you want to change that, then build your personal database about preparing for them. When you have knowledge, you have power and confidence. That's why you need to do your research! When you have that feeling of having some control, then that is when your real sense of confidence will emerge.

Consumer decision-making is affected by the relationship between time and spatial distance, according to a new study in the Journal of Consumer Research.

"We often think about time in various contexts. But we do not realize how susceptible our judgment of time is to seemingly irrelevant factors like spatial distance," write authors B. Kyu Kim (University of Southern California), Gal Zauberman (Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania), and James R. Bettman (Duke University).

Imagine that you are in New York today and will be in a different city in one month. Will your judgment of how long that month seems differ depending on where you will be in one month? For instance, will one month in the future seem longer if you expect to be in Los Angeles rather than Philadelphia? Consumers should be aware that spatial distance influences judgment of future time and can impact our decisions.

The authors asked consumers to imagine visiting a post office today and a bookstore in three months. Some were told that the distance between the post office and the bookstore was long, while others were told it was short. When the distance was long, consumers perceived the same three month period to be longer. Similarly, consumers who imagined moving far away when they retire felt their retirement was farther away in time than those who imagined moving near their current location.

These perceptions can affect how patient we are when making choices. Because instant gratification is more attractive, consumers often impatiently opt for inferior but instantly available options over superior choices that require waiting.

"It is hard to realize that our impatient behavior can be influenced by spatial distances. So pay attention when making a decision. Spatial distances can change your perception of future time and make you impatient," the authors conclude.

Your daily look at late-breaking news, upcoming events and the stories that will be talked about today (all times EDT):

1. WHY REPEALING HEALTH CARE LAW WON'T BE EASY

2. ECONOMISTS LAY OUT GLOOMY FORECAST

Sales and profit gains of early 2012 are disappearing and financial pros say Europe's crisis, the possible expiration of the Bush tax cuts in December, and the prospect of major cuts in federal spending are also weighing on their minds.

3. ANNAN MEETS WITH KEY SYRIAN ALLY

The U.N. special envoy consults with top Russian officials, who are adamantly opposed to international military intervention. But in light of rising violence, Russia is under increasing pressure to get tougher on Assad.

4. MICROSOFT AND MSNBC END ONLINE ALLIANCE

The tech giant is pulling out of the joint venture that owned MSNBC.com, freeing the world's largest software maker to build its own online news service and NBC News to do the same.

5. WHAT CLINTON IS DISCUSSING IN ISRAEL

The secretary of state is meeting with Israeli and Palestinian leaders and the violence in Syria and Iran's nuclear program are on the table.

7. RHETORIC HEATS UP ON CAMPAIGN TRAIL

At 12:30 p.m. in Cincinnati, Obama will hold a town hall where he is expected to be critical of GOP rival Romney's tax proposals and tout his own 2009 bailout of the auto industry.

8. NORTH KOREA'S TOP MILITARY OFFICIAL IS OUT

A key mentor to Kim Jong Un is removed from all posts because of illness, state media says. The departure feeds speculation that Kim purged him in an effort to put his own mark on the authoritarian nation he inherited seven months ago.

9. COURT MARTIAL TRIAL OPENS AT LACKLAND

At 9:30 a.m., military officials at this Air Force base in Texas are expected to tell the court that initial flirtations a sergeant directed at the women he trained eventually morphed into threats and intimidation, and ultimately led to rape.

10. NO KIDDING AROUND FOR NEW KNICKS PLAYER

Recently signed guard Jason Kidd is busted for DWI in the Hamptons, creating yet another distraction for New York's NBA team in light of Jeremy Lin's uncertain future.

Bruce Springsteen London Concert Cut Short By Officials

Bruce Springsteen London Concert Cut Short By Officials

Bruce Springsteen hit the stage in London over the weekend to headline the finale at the Hard Rock Calling festival held at Hyde Park in London Saturday. Taking the stage with him for the finale was none other than the knighted Beatle himself, Sir Paul McCartney.

Apparently the status of the two rock legends wasn't enough to extend the concert being held in one of London's largest outdoor parks.

Springsteen is known for his marathon sets and in the climax of the three hour show McCartney and Springsteen were playing an old Beatles favorite ?Twist and Shout? when the plug was pulled on them. The time was 10:40pm and according to London's Westminster Council, Springsteen was given until 10:15 to finish his set.

Fans were left unsatisfied and baffled by the actions and it was later confirmed by officials that they had cut the power to the event, claiming they ?were sticking to their license for the event.?
